I want to commend all who have contributed to the Great Sitkin site and to organizing the reunions. I did two Med cruises plus some Atlantic coastal stuff, ca. '65 - '66, as an Ensign. Capts. English & Esler. Second & Third Divisions, Special Weapons, Gunnery. Wonderful to see familiar names in the roster! Incredible to find where she was before I was on her, and where she went after. Looks like we weren't the only ones to bust a screw. Were we the only ones to hit another ship? (destroyer lost rudder control while steaming alongside.) God, the memories! The people! What a lot of stories pass with the passing of a ship.
