Thursday - September 6th,  Man, Monuments and Memorials Tour: 
    Thursday morning we boarded buses for a short trip to Washington, DC.  Our guided tour included stops at the Capital building for a photo-op and visits to the Lincoln, Korea and Vietnam Memorials.  Lunch was at Union Station with plenty of time for shopping and chatting with shipmates.  We also visited the United States Navy Memorial where they held a dedication ceremony for the wall plaque commemorating the USS Great Sitkin (AE-17).  The last stop for the day was a visit to the Jefferson Memorial.  After returning to the hotel we enjoyed a BBQ dinner.  There was plenty of grub and no one went away hungry!
