Thursday - September 11th, Nashville
Nightlife
Theater:
The morning and afternoon were free time.
Several people toured Fontanel, Barbara
Mandrells former mansion with Pritchards
Distillery onsite. Music City Trolleys
provided 24-hour Hop On/Off tours, and the
rest of us walked along Broadway visiting
the local bars while listening to country
music singers and bands. Many visited the
Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash museums.
Pickers was a popular place for most.
Other shipmates toured the Hermitage, Andrew
Jacksons former home.
In the evening, we boarded a bus for
dinner and entertainment at the Nashville
Nightlife Theatre. Tim Watson, comedian
and fiddle virtuoso, brought the house down
with his expertise. Who could ever forget
his rendition of The Devil Went Down to
Georgia? It was an unforgettable
night out on the town!

Friday, September 12th, More Fun
and Entertainment:
Friday was a free day and evening. Several
Sitkin people drove to Lynchburg, TN to
visit the Jack Daniels Distillery while
others took the hotel shuttle back to
Broadway. Who could miss the famous
Tootsies Lounge with three levels and a
band playing on each one. Then on to wet
our whistles and listen to more music at the
Hard Rock Caf, Rock Bottom Brewery,
Wildhorse and Full Moon Saloons, etc. So
many taverns to visit in so little time!
Not to be missed was the beautiful Gaylord
Opryland Resort with nine acres of indoor
gardens, waterways and restaurants.
Shopping was at nearby Opry Mills.
Friday evening was show time at the Grand
Ole Opry where many of us saw a fantastic
show featuring Roy Clark, Mel Tillis, Connie
Smith, Lee Greenwood and many newer stars.
