Andersonville National Civil War Naval
Museum & the National POW/MIA Memorial
Cemetery
This
40,000-square-foot museum houses the remains
of two Civil War Vessels: the iron-clad CSS
Jackson and the gunboat CSS Chattahoochee, a
steam-powered sailing ship. The museum also
contains recreated sections of the USS
Monitor, the ironclad CSS Albemarie, and
Admiral David Glasgow Farragut�s flagship
the USS Hartford. Eight wall panels show the
timeline of the Civil War at sea. A
collection of four Brooke rifled naval
cannons made in Confederate iron foundries
are also housed there.
